Our Plan

The UC Civil and Environmental Society is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic study and professional practice. Our events are intentionally designed to foster a tight-knit community among students within the discipline, while simultaneously connecting them with industry professionals. By providing these networking opportunities, we offer students a broader perspective on the engineering landscape, helping them navigate their future career paths. From academic support to social connection, we are committed to seeing our members thrive throughout their time at UC.

Meet our partners one-on-one in a relaxed setting. Ask questions, gain insights, and build meaningful connections with industry professionals.

CV Workshop

A workshop that brings together industry professionals to share insights on CV writing and job applications. Get your CV reviewed and receive personalized feedback to help you stand out in the job market.

Meet some of our past students and see what the transition between uni and work life is really like.

Quiz Night

Team up with friends for our annual Quiz Night. Show off your creativity with fun dress-ups and enjoy a night of laughter and friendly competition.

BBQ & Gigs

Come by yourself or come as a group. The goal is for students to meet one another and just have a good time.

Ball

A night of music, fun, and mingling with students across all disciplines. First held in 2025 to huge success — back again in 2026.

BYO

Connect with peers and other cohorts at our BYO events. In 2026 we enjoyed a great night at Zyka with delicious food and fun games.

Academic

New academic support initiatives coming to UC students in 2026.

2nd Year Tutoring

An additional space where students can get extra help along with snacks and their peers.

Decide Your Discipline

An event catered to first years still choosing what type of engineer they want to be. Hopefully we convinced them with civil!!
